Aristides Instruments

In Guitars by jtkung

Modern guitars mean both novel design aesthetics, materials, as well as construction techniques.  Aristides Instruments are notable for the latter 2 of these. They are modern and unique guitars due to their construction — sandwiches of different layers — glass fibre and carbon fibre, and something called Arium. This is used for both the body and neck. Richlite is used for the fingerboard, so there’s no wood in the guitar at all.  The design aesthetic still follow conventional strat-style and double cutaways, so it will be interesting if they look at other shapes as well headless which I think would benefit from these construction techniques and materials.

The construction is shown here:

A video of the factory:

I would expect the neck to be super rigid and not need much adjustments — even under extreme weather conditions.  And I like the bowling ball finishes.

New materials seem to be better suited for modern style guitars and music — coupled to higher output passive and active pickups into bone crunching amps.   Aristides is no exception, and I hope they continue to push the boundaries of guitar materials and building.
