Adriano Sérgio of Ergon Guitars makes some stunning guitars with unique design attributes with regards to body shape, chambers, and sound hole openings. These remind me of Gaudi in some sense. The designs are not for everyone — especially the vintage crowd — but these are modern designs which push the limit of what’s possible.
The AV guitar is interesting in that it takes a vintage design like a Les Paul and “upgrades” it in a sense to modern aesthetics. It isn’t as radical as some of the other Ergon models, but it still has a modern feel but with some vintage roots. Take a look at that neck attachment and heel design along with the sound holes. Bravo!
