With all the issues that Brazil is having -- on top of the fact that they were already overwhelmed and not ready -- should they even have the games? Seems like a big global health risk.
These global games are really a deceptive way for large companies and governments to make money. It is proven that it does not help the local economy or people. In fact, it puts them into debt. It is a huge sham. People are starting to see it in developed countries as few cities now want to host an Olympics (just too much money with little gain). Only the large construction companies or businesses who would benefit from it, as well as local politicians (who are in the pocket of such companies) push for it.
Thus, it is sad to see an under-developed country try to host the games. It isn't capable, will go even deeper in debt, and with all the issues surrounding Brazil (collapsing economy, corrupt politicians, President impeachment, Zika virus), it could be a man-made disaster waiting to happen.
