Looks like due to availability (and probably lower pricing) of DSP chips -- like the Analog Devices Blackfin -- that you will see some new, high performance pedals and effects. Here's a few:

• Source Audio: Nemesis (delay) and Ventris (reverb): about $299 each
  
• Empress Effects: Echosystem (delay, new in 2017), and Reverb: about $450 each
  

I am hoping Empress Effects drops their pricing as the Source Audio stuff (designed in Massachusetts, USA but made in China) is a lot cheaper.
