THE SIX LUTHIERS:
All famous in their own right. I had high hopes that you would get some spectacular guitar designs using this wood, but alas they went into a different direction and concentrated on creating art work diverging from guitar form and function.

Not what I expected. I was hoping for incredible, modern guitar designs which maximize the beauty of the old barrel wood. These seem like art pieces, and the ones that are more like guitars, tend to look antique and old -- not modern. The guitar from Ergon Guitars seems to be the most modern while still looking playable as a guitar.
