I think these pedals dominate the market. There are only a few specific circuits which generate distortion, and most pedals are some derivative of these. Sometimes you will get an interesting design -- like the Klon Centaur, but most are clones. 

I also find it ironic that many people hate the clones coming out of China. Yet most of the high-end boutique makers are doing the same thing -- cloning others.  I guess if you clone in America and charge more -- that is okay, versus cloning in China and making it affordable for everybody.
