Modern acoustic guitar was defined by Michael Hedges in the 1980s. Hedges redefined how an acoustic guitar could sound, and how it could be played. His percussive techniques and simultaneous playing of multiple melodies was astounding. Hedges passed away tragically in a car accident in 1997.
Fast forward to present day, and there are many young guitarists who have taken this technique to new heights. Luca Stricagnoli is one of them. Check out his rendition of Sweet Child O’ Mine in the video above.
