One of the areas ripe for innovation on guitars is the basic body design — finding ways to uniquely define the sound hole while maximizing vibration. Offset sound holes as well as side sound ports have been the main innovation for a while, but nothing like what you see on the Maxwell Infinitum acoustic archtop.
Key to this innovative design are the side sound holes in a body which appears somewhat twisted in construction — forming an outline of an infinity symbol when viewed from the top. There’s a conventional bridge, but the strings appear to be through the top and anchored there. Pretty unique construction with amazing design aesthetic. It appears to be a prototype and not quite finished, but would love to hear what it sounds like!
