One of the biggest advantages of the Kemper Profiling Amplifier is the ability to profile the large number of sound distortion devices available. This includes

• Guitar amplifiers
  
• Distortion effects (guitar pedals)
  
• Speakers and Cabinets
  
• Downstream signal chain such as microphones, mic pres, etc.
  

The sheer number of possibilities is astounding.  This is far beyond any other modeler which only model what is stored in firmware and is limited.

Since Kemper are the only ones who understand and can decode the meaning of the profiles (binary format), they in essence could datamine the available free and commercial profiles, screen out the ones which are audibly superior, and analyze why. This in turn could allow them to manually create profiles from scratch with the most desired characteristics -- in effect creating new amp sounds derived from the sonically superior, empirically derived profiles.  Or create hybrid sounds which have distortion characteristics of multiple amps. This opens up a huge palette of new sounds which cannot be created by circuit schematic and hence cannot be created by any other modeler.  This is true innovation and allows growth in areas not possible for others.
